SODA SPRINGS, Id— 20 November, 2007 — Caribou County Treasurer's Office today introduces to its property owners the option of paying taxes with a credit card, debit card and electronic check. The Agency has contracted with Point & Pay, a third party vendor, to operate as an extension of the County's payment processing services.
Depending upon credit card benefits, cardholders can earn rewards such as airline miles or other bonuses when paying their taxes through Point & Pay. The new service gives residents a flexible, secure method of making payments conveniently and on time.
Residents can make an online payment by going to the payments page at www.pointandpay.com/onlinepayment/caribouid/ or by using the Interactive Voice Response system at 866-845-7272. Information requested will include a bill number; credit card, debit card, or checking account information; and the amount that is to be paid. A nominal fee is calculated and charged for this convenient service. The Point & Pay system then determines the total payment amount, obtains approval of the charge and issues a payment confirmation number.
For over eight years, Point & Pay has offered taxpayers the ease of fulfilling payment obligations in real-time, conveniently and securely from anywhere, anytime.
"Credit card and E-check payments continue to rise in popularity, reflecting Americans' payment preferences from traditional paper-based to electronic methods," said Point & Pay General Manager, George Devitt. "We are excited to bring this convenient payment alternative to Caribou County citizens."
Point & Pay enables government agencies and utilities to accept electronic payments from consumers and businesses for taxes, registrations, licenses, utility bills, and other services and fees using credit and debit cards or electronic checks — anytime, anywhere. Point & Pay is a subsidiary of Vesta Corporation, an innovator and worldwide leader in electronic commerce.
