St. Agatha, ME— September 25, 2008 — The Town of St. Agatha has announced that residents can now make real estate and personal property tax payments online, in addition to at the agency office. For added convenience, taxpayers may use an American Express®, Discover®, MasterCard® or VISA® credit card, debit card or electronic check to make a payment. The Town has contracted with Point & Pay, a third party vendor, to operate as an extension of their customer support and payment processing services.
“Our goal is to provide our taxpayers the best level of service. We are excited to accommodate our customers with easier payment solutions,” said Ryan Pelletier, Town Manager.
The new service gives residents a flexible, secure method of making payments conveniently and on time. Depending upon individual card benefits, cardholders can even earn rewards such as airline miles or other bonuses when paying their taxes with a credit card.
Residents can make an online payment by going to the town’s website at http://www.stagatha.com clicking on the Clerk’s Page link, and then choosing either the real estate or personal property tax link.
Information requested will include an account number, credit/debit card or checking account information, and the amount of the tax that is to be paid. A nominal fee is calculated and charged for this convenient service. If citizens wish to make payments past the September 30th deadline they will need to call the town office in order to obtain the updated amount of taxes due, since the interest accrued will have changed.
